Zit Causes, Symptoms

A zit is a small inflamed elevation in the skin that occurs when oil glands in the skin get clogged. Zits are caused by the propioni bacterium and it is this bacteria that produces enzymes to help reduce production of sebum which is the oil produced by the body’s sebaceous gland. This in turn clogs up the skin pores and shows as an inflammation on the skin. So typically zits are a result of blocked skin pores. They are not caused by stress, as it is generally assumed but zits causes are very likely to be blamed on a poor diet, lack of exercise and lack of fresh air. Zits are a problem that is not only faced by young people but also a lot of adults. However, it is mostly a part of every teenager’s life in which case most teenagers are involved in the activity of zit popping because of their very impatient nature. This process includes forcibly opening the zit up by pushing it from either sides. Although it is practiced a lot, it is important to know that zit popping only leads to spreading infection and can make the embarrassing zits look even worse.

There are various forms of zits and this explains why it is so difficult to get a treatment for this problem. However, the good part is that there are a lot of options when it comes to zits treatment. There are a lot of zits removing lotions that are readily available in the market or at the local pharmacy store. Application of these lotions helps in reducing the inflammation and clearing out the clocked skin pore. However, it is important to note that these lotions are merely a temporary solution and cannot rid you of this problem forever. Apart from medication, zit treatment include application of day to day home products like using extracts out of orange peel, lemon, and garlic, mixture of coriander and mint leaves or even cucumber. All of the above mentioned treatments and remedies will simply help reduce the zit once it appears, however, if a long lasting effect is needed; it can be reduced by simple measures. Ensure that you eat a healthy diet consisting of a lot of fruits and vegetables, drink a lot of fluids and this could include either water or juices. Also, make it a point to keep the face clean by washing it at least twice a day.
